Thank You To Our Volunteers

Seashell Trust is delighted to report that we have achieved the Investing In Volunteers award, the UK's quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. Achieving the IIV Award is a sign of our commitment to everyone who generously donates their time, skills and experience to helping our organisation. Volunteers are involved in all areas of our organisation, from CADS leaders to office workers, and no matter where you volunteer, or what you do at Seashell, we know that we couldn't have achieved this award without you.

Thank you.

Kerry Comer has been volunteering at Seashell Trust for more than five years. She writes that she was "delighted" to be a part of the award process, as she was one of the volunteers who met with the visiting assessor to talk about their experiences. For Kerry, it was also an opportunity to explain why she has stayed with Seashell for so long - because the commitment suited her, she says, and because Seashell is "flexible, supportive and friendly - if a little chaotic at times!"

"There is lots of work involved in achieving this award," Kerry adds, noting that she and the other volunteers were only part of the process. "But hey, it was all worth it! Seashell Trust has been assessed, and has been awarded the prestigious Investing In Volunteers award!"

Denese Paver, Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Trust, adds that she is proud that the Trust's commitment to their volunteers has been recognised. Seashell has previously been awarded the IIV, and by continuing to hold ourselves to these standards, we hope that our volunteer programmes will only go from strength to strength.
