Welcome to Royal School Manchester at Seashell Trust
We are a mixed day and residential special school for children and young people between 2 and 19 years who have complex learning disabilities combined with significant communication difficulties including little or no oral language.
We have skills and expertise in meeting the needs of young people with one or more of the following conditions: Autism spectrum conditions; deafblindness/multi-sensory impairment; Hearing impairment with additional needs; Profound and multiple learning disabilities; Auditory processing disorder; Visual impairment including cerebral visual impairment with additional needs; Additional medical needs including progressive and degenerative conditions
Total Communication
In order to meet the diverse needs of our learners we use a total communication approach incorporating technology, sign, speech, symbols and photographs, real objects and objects of reference as appropriate to support the learning of the individual. Communication underpins everything we do.
Placements
We offer day and Residential Placements including 38 weeks (weekly boarding Monday-Thursday); 38 weeks (termly boarding) and 52 weeks. Seashell Trust also offers short break packages on site.
