RSM Governor and Chair of Staffing & Finance Committee

Lynn joined the governing body of the school as the LA representative for Stockport in January 2012.

Lynn’s personal background is in education.  Having completed her doctorate in developmental psychology she trained as a primary teacher and worked in schools that faced very challenging circumstances.   For a number of years she worked as part of an LA team to support the senior leadership of schools who were in either Serious Weaknesses or Special Measures.  Following this she took a headship of a large primary school.

After headship she moved to manage a team of colleagues who provided work based training to the wider children’s workforce as well as delivering education to disaffected young people who were unable to attend mainstream provision.

More recently she worked in Stockport LA for 4 years as their Senior Adviser for Safeguarding in Education and it was in this capacity that she first encountered the Seashell Trust.  She is currently working for Stockport LA as a Senior School Improvement Officer advising primary schools within the borough.
