Ed joined the Board of Directors in July 2009.
Ed’s son, who has a complex disability, left Royal College after four years as a residential student to live in a supported tenancy then run by Seashell.
Ed retired in 2015 having had a career as an in-house solicitor/company secretary, specialising in the fields of engineering, construction, manufacturing and local government. With four decades experience in the private UK and foreign markets, and in the English public sector, Ed was involved in the latter part of his career in Manchester’s Building Schools for the Future programme, the HOME project and East Manchester redevelopment working with consultants, external lawyers and framework contractors, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts.
Currently, as well as being the 'Volunteer Champion' on the Board, Ed is the link with the Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society who are working on a project to scan and index details of the pupils of the Trust from 1825-1919.
