Training Course | Introduction to Signing for Young People

Are you age 8+ and want to learn sign language? Are you looking to work with young people and need to be able to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL)?  This is a great way to start!  

This course is designed to enable learners to communicate with Deaf young people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use and participating in very simple conversation. 

Day: Wednesday, 6.30 - 8pm

Term Dates:  7 January 2015 - 2 April 2015

Location: Seashell Trust Training, Stanley Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle SK8 6RQ 

Entry requirements

  • There are no entry requirements

Course learning outcomes: 

When you have finished this course you should be able to:

  • Participate in a conversation using very simple sign.
  • Demonstrate and respond to an appropriate selection of vocabulary
  • Demonstrate a number of grammatical features, clearly and accurately

Price: £80 including materials and exam fees

Progression / Next step: 

  • Level 1 Award in British Sign Language
