Christmas cuddle from Sir Alex Ferguson

Seashell Trust student Vincent Parkinson meets Sir Alex Ferguson

Students at Seashell Trust got a seasonal surprise when Sir Alex Ferguson dropped in to wish them a merry Christmas.

The Manchester United legend met our staff and students.

Some of the students have such complex difficulties they did not go home for the holidays. Hard-working staff made sure they didn't miss out on any of the festive fun.

Mark Geraghty, CEO of Seashell Trust, said: “Sir Alex gave the young people living at Seashell over Christmas and the children with us for our Shop and Drop CADS event an early Christmas treat.

“Seashell has embarked upon one of the most exciting periods of development in its 190-year history as we endeavour to complete our appeal to raise £10m for 17 new homes on our site.

“However we are not a charity that is as widely known as others because of the highly specialised nature of our work with profoundly disabled young people.

“We are therefore extremely grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson, a person with an international reputation, for taking an interest in Seashell at a time when we are truly at the top of our game; with outstanding judgments from Ofsted across all areas of our operation.”
