Never mind the General Election, the Seashell Trust needs your vote.

The charity is looking to win a grant of up to £25,000 from the Aviva Community Fund.

Seashell Trust runs Children's Able and Disabled Sport (CADS). It gives disabled young people, aged five to 18, opportunities to enjoy sports activities in Stockport alongside their non-disabled friends in an inclusive, non-judgmental setting.

It costs around £18 per hour to support a child with more complex needs during a session. Without this, many would have no access during the holidays to activities which improve their physical and mental health as well social interaction.

Gemma Lynch, senior CADS co-ordinator, said: “If we were successful in gaining this funding it would have such an impact on families and the young people that attend the events. It provides essential support and short breaks for those with severe and complex disabilities, allowing them the opportunity to lead healthier and more active lives.”

If Seashell Trust secures enough votes by Saturday, May 30 it will go through to the finals, where a judging panel will award the funds.

Everyone can cast up to ten votes. To show your support for Seashell Trust and the young people who so richly deserve some fun, please go to www.community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/Project/View/895
