Sir Alex Ferguson's golf day raises £30,000

Sir Alex Ferguson and friends swung into action and donated £30,000 to Seashell Trust.
The former Manchester United manager held his 14th annual golf day at he Mere Golf Resort and Spa near Knutsford in Cheshire.
Celebrities, including Willie Thorne, Philip Middlemiss and Ashley Taylor Dawson teed off alongside amateur golfers to raise money for the our National Centre of Excellence.
Sir Alex said: “I had the honour of visiting last year and had the honour of witnessing first hand their work with some of this country's most profoundly disabled children. The Seashell Trust are creating their very first National Centre of Excellence that will allow them to reach out to many more families across the UK and I hope that we can help them.”
Mark Geraghty, CEO and principal of the Seashell Trust, said: “Our aim is to be able to reach any family who requires our highly specialised support. This wonderful gift is helping us achieve this through our Transforming Lives appeal.”
The golf day took Sir Alex's charity the Elizabeth Hardie Ferguson Charitable Trust Fund, named in memory of his late mother, past £1million raised for good causes.
The event was sponsored by our long-time supporter Ged Mason and his engineering recruitment business the Morson Group.
