Co-operative Bank's Mark cycles Trans Pennine Trail for Seashell

Mark Shaw on Trans Pennine Trail

A cyclist raised over £600 completing the 210-mile Trans Pennine Trail in memory of Seashell fundraiser.

Mark Shaw, a business banking advocate at the Co-operative Bank in Stockport, rode mostly solo from Southport to Hornsea over a long weekend.

Mark, 27, from Gorton, said: “I chose to cycle for the the Seashell Trust as my cousin, who recently passed away, was a big advocate of the charity.

“As he died so young, I thought should take up the baton of fundraising for the trust. I know it is for the most worthwhile cause in Manchester.

“On day one, my friend Dave Smith helped me set a good pace to get 100 miles from Southport to Penistone completed.

“The hardest part was the continuation daily after a long day of cycling. I soldiered through it by remembering what a great inspiration Chris was and that with him watching over me anything is possible.”
