A team of 13 from accountants and business advisers HURST conquered the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales to raise thousands of pounds for Seashell Trust.

The intrepid group, including partner Nigel Barratt and associate partner Liz Gallagher, raised more than £6,000 by completing the Three Peaks Challenge, which involves scaling Ben Nevis (4,413ft), Scafell Pike (3,209ft) and Snowdon (3,560ft) in under 24 hours.

Corporate finance manager Ian Dawson was the fastest of the group, completing the challenge in 22 hours and 47 minutes.

The climbers, who were driven by partner Narendra Mistry, lived on pasta, energy drinks and chocolate bars for the duration of the challenge.

HURST has chosen Seashell Trust as its charity of the year and is raising money for specialist gym equipment.

Marketing executive Nisha Randhawa, who was in the HURST team, said: “We dedicated several weekends to preparing for the trip by climbing other mountains, which stood us all in good stead.

“Everyone motivated and helped each other and, despite a few falls and lots of aches and pains, there was a tremendous feeling of achievement once we had completed the challenge.

“It was all for a fantastic cause and we’re delighted to have raised such a large amount of money for Seashell Trust.”

Other activities planned by HURST during 2016 include a quiz night, a bake-off competition and the annual corporate football tournament.
