Private banking and wealth management firm Brown Shipley triumphed at HURST’s annual charity five-a-side football tournament for the second year in a row.

A total of £1,700 was raised for Seashell Trust, which is HURST’s charity of the year.

Fifteen teams took part in the sixth annual competition, which was held at the Lucozade Powerleague Trafford Soccerdome.

The tournament attracted entrants from professional services firms as well as a variety of business sectors, including recruitment and logistics. Group stages were followed by knock-out rounds.

Brown Shipley, who beat corporate recovery and insolvency specialists Leonard Curtis in the 2015 final, overcame vehicle finance company Zuto 2-0 in this year’s showdown, with star man Matt Dodwell being named player of the tournament.

Organiser Ryan Niblock, of HURST Corporate Finance, said: “This year’s tournament was another success in raising money for a great cause while also providing an opportunity for business networking.”
