Seashell fitness volunteer Brett's rehab story inspires £500 donation

Rehabilitation specialists have been inspired by one of their brain injury survivors to donate £500 to Seashell Trust.
Rehab Without Walls client Brett Arnold is a volunteer fitness instructor at Seashell Trust's fully integrated gym. He uses his experience of coming back from a traumatic injury to encourage other disabled people to use fitness facilities and enjoy an active life.
His interest in fitness helped him regain his balance and coordination after a serious road accident in 2008. After intensive rehabilitation, supported by Rehab without Walls, Brett retrained as an personal trainer through Aspire's InstructAbility programme.
Claire Baxter, from Rehab Without Walls, said: “This donation has been inspired by one of our wonderful clients, Brett, who has worked as a volunteer in the Trust's gym for the past year, after qualifying as a personal trainer. We’re extremely proud of what Brett has achieved over the past couple of years and are delighted that he has been able to use his new qualification to support such a great cause.”
Seashell Trust's gym manager Heather Potter said: “Brett is a great role model for the many disabled young people who access our gym.”
Seashell Trust fitness suite at our campus on Stanley Road, Cheadle Hulme, is fully accessible for people of all abilities and disabilities and is open to the local community. To book a session please call 0161 610 0100.
