A new era of sport has kicked off at Seashell Trust.

The state-of-the-art 3G pitch has hosted its first footballers. Cheadle and Gatley JFC has moved its training sessions to our Stanley Road campus

The junior players, aged between 8 and 12, are taking advantage of the all-weather pitch.

Seashell Trust has the goal to be at the centre of its local community, as well as inclusive, sport. The floodlit pitch can be used up to 10pm each evening and will be complimented by accessible changing facilities making it great for local teams and clubs to use for training, matches, or just for a kickabout.

Andy Scott, Chairman of Cheadle and Gatley Football Club, said: “This amazing opportunity has enabled all the Cheadle and Gatley teams across all the age groups to train at the same great new local facility. We must express our sincere thanks to Seashell Trust, the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund for providing this opportunity which has enabled ourselves to provide grassroots football training and coaching to over 300 local boys and girls at a state-of-the-art facility in a safe environment.”

Nikola Giles, Seashell Trust’s director of resources, said: “It has been fantastic to see our new 3G pitch put to its first use by Cheadle and Gatley’s junior team. Making sport fully inclusive is crucially important to Seashell Trust and we ensure that our activities are fully accessible to young people no matter what their ability or disability. Opening these new state of the art football facilities opens up the game to everyone and takes Seashell Trust closer to our vision to be a national centre for inclusive sports.”
