Understanding the Mental Health of Young People and Providing Psychological Support is a workshop delivered by Mode Rehabilitation and Nurture Psychology, supported by Parents in Partnership Stockport and Seashell Trust, FREE for parents, carers and family members or £50 for professionals.

Thursday 28th September, 9.30am to 2.30pm at Cheshire Conference and Events, Edgeley Park, Hardcastle Rd, Stockport SK3 9DD

Aims of the Workshop:

1. Improve access to effective mental health support for vulnerable young people
2. Improve resilience, prevention and early intervention for young people’s mental health
3. Develop knowledge of local independent mental health services and support for young people
4. Improve community knowledge and engagement in mental health services
5. Better experience of care and support reported by young people through better access to information, choice and control
6. Increase independence for young people away from services
7. Educate young people about how to manage their own mental health
8. Increase wellbeing of young people and their families
9. Increase choice of support including group and peer support

Types of Conversations:

1. Understanding unwanted behaviour.
2. How to cope with emotional difficulties across diagnosis.
3. Strategies to cope with stress and for negative emotion reduction.
4. Goal setting and future planning.
5. Understanding change and unmet goals.
