Rose Queen Helen's blooming marvellous fundraising

Eaton and Hulme Walfield Rose Queen Helen Banks raised £700 for Seashell Trust during her reign.

The Year 7 pupil chose to support us for her year of charity fundraising because her mum Louise works here at Royal College Manchester.

Louise, a learning support assistant, said: “I love my job at the Seashell Trust and it fills me with pride when I see the positive impact we have on these young people's lives.

“I'm aware, that to provide our young people with the best facilities, that there is a continual need to fundraise so I was very proud when Helen chose to support the Seashell Trust as her Rose Queen charity.”

Helen, aged 12, from Eaton near Congleton, presented Seashell Trust's Wendy Bray with a cheque for £700 at the annual Eaton garden party. She said: “I have really enjoyed my year as Rose Queen and it has been a privilege to raise funds for the Seashell Trust.”

The money was raised through a bag pack, raffles and a sponsored silence with the 1st Eaton and Hulme Walfield Brownies, where Helen is a Guide helper.

Wendy said: “We are thrilled that Helen chose us to fundraise for during her special year and overwhelmed by how much she raised. She is such a remarkable young lady to have achieved so much and we feel proud to have been part of her Rose Queen year.”
