MyHearing is the latest sponsor of Seashell sportive

Newly-launched independent hearing solutions company, MyHearing, has signed up as the latest sponsor of the 2018 Seashell Trust charity sportive.
Formerly the Royal School for the Deaf Manchester founded in 1823, Seashell Trust now caters exclusively for the country’s most profoundly disabled children and young people who additionally have little or no ability to communicate verbally. A significant proportion have a hearing impairment.
The fully-supported event, now in its fourth year, will start and finish at the charity’s campus in Cheadle Hulme on Sunday, September 16.
There is a choice of four routes, from 30 miles for families and beginners new to sportives right up to a 100-mile route taking in 10 of the region’s top hill climbs. The ride takes in the very best scenery Cheshire, the Peak District and Staffordshire have to offer.
Run entirely by volunteers, every penny raised from the event goes directly to supporting the work of Seashell Trust.
Guy Wolstencroft, CEO of MyHearing Group, said: “As soon as I heard that deaf children with additional complex needs would benefit from the funds raised from the sportive I was in.
“I am a passionate cyclist and triathlete myself but take for granted the freedom cycling gives me when out on the road. I know the children and young people at Seashell Trust cannot do this for themselves but with the help of the dedicated staff at the charity, cycling is a regular feature of their day thanks the amazing array of adapted bicycles, tricycles and quad-cycles they are fundraising to pay for.”
Dominic Tinner, Head of Fundraising at Seashell Trust, said: “MyHearing can attest to the frustration people, both young and old, experience not being able to hear properly. When you combine that with complex learning difficulties you begin to understand the challenges the children and young people at Seashell Trust face each and every day.”
