Christie & Co. nine hour night time trek secures generous donation for charity

National charity Seashell Trust, who support children and young adults with complex learning disabilities and additional communication needs, give thanks to Christie & Co. after its North East Regional team raise £5,872 by walking a grueling 20 miles along Hadrian's Wall in the dark.

The team of 14 from Christie & Co, who are the leading specialist advisor for buying and selling businesses across sectors including childcare and healthcare, walked 20 miles through the hours of the night to secure donations for the charity.

The nine-hour nighttime trek, which began at 9pm and ended at 6am, saw the team battle adverse weather conditions including wind and rain.

Lara Langdon, from Christie & Co., said: "We wanted to fundraise for Seashell Trust as the work that they do for children and young people across the UK is extremely commendable, and the services they offer are life changing.

"As a company we are so proud of those who took part and raised money for the charity. The walk was tough but we kept our spirits high, by the 19th mile we couldn't feel our feet but it was definitely an experience we won't be forgetting anytime soon."

The funds raised will go towards a sensory room, helping Seashell ensure that they continue to provide a creative, happy and secure environment for children and young people with severe and  complex learning disabilities which include little or no language abilities.

Wendy Bray, Fundraising Manager for Seashell Trust, said: "We are so grateful to the whole team that completed this unique and very challenging fundraiser for Seashell Trust. To have walked through all weathers and in the dark is such an achievement and means to so much to everyone at Seashell.

"We are really overwhelmed with how much was raised and are so grateful to everyone in the Newcastle and Leeds offices as well as all their clients, contacts, family and friends who supported them."
