Preparations underway for Sportive, Seashell’s Charity Cycling fundraiser
Back this weekend, and in its sixth year, Seashell Trust’s charity cycling event Sportive is back with an exciting prize opportunity for everyone who raises over £50.
The event challenges contestants to ride one of four scenic courses.
For 2019 those raising over £50 for Seashell Trust by 13 October (via Virgin Money Giving) are being entered into a raffle with the chance to win a Pinarello Gan bicycle worth £2,500.
Money raised will go towards helping the life changing work of the charity, which provides care, education and inspiration to some of the country’s most profoundly disabled children and young people who have little or no communication.
The routes are 50, 75, 100 or 170 kilometers in length, with the entire entry fee of £35 going directly to the charity.
Each one treats the rider to scenic views of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. On the route five feed stations will keep riders fed, with mobile mechanic provided by the Tour of Britain team, free tea, coffee and cake at the finish line as well as a goody bag.
Dominic Tinner, Head of Fundraising at Seashell Trust, said: “The Sportive is such a fantastic event, with everyone on the day in high spirits. Each route is designed to give the rider a beautiful view and there will be a huge group of volunteers on the day making sure that each rider has the best possible experience.
“Thanks to our amazing sponsors we’re able to donate the entire entry fee towards our charity meaning that even if you just want to come along and ride without raising further funds you’re still contributing to a charitable cause.
“Although for those raising over £50 there’s the chance to win an incredible Pinarello Gan bicycle worth an astounding £2,500! Good luck to those on the day.”
Sponsors of the event include; Beyond Corporate Law, McAlister Family Law, Ultimate Creative Communications, Brazen PR, My Hearing, TDS, Velo-Tech, Starkey Hearing Technologies, PZ Cussons, Stomping Ground Coffee, Pinarello, PCS.
