Deaf Awareness Week 4-10 May
Deaf Awareness Week is taking place 4 – 10 May 2020, raising awareness and challenging perceptions of hearing loss and deafness across the UK.
As part of Seashell’s Deaf Awareness Week campaign, Seashell’s British Sign Language Tutor, June Battye has challenged Seashell's staff and supporters to develop their British Sign Language skills or to refresh existing skills by learning how to sign ‘I Can Sing a Rainbow’.
Rainbows have become a sign of hope amid the coronavirus crisis and we hope to bring Team Seashell and our community together to celebrate our campaign.
We’re asking our staff and supporters to video themselves showcasing their signing skills. Contributions will be pulled together for use in a special video prepared during Deaf Awareness Week as part of our weekly Clap for Our Carer's video, released on Thursday 7 MaY 2020.
