Virtual Balloon Race – across the Sahara Desert

We invite you to take part in an exciting new activity – a virtual Balloon race across the Sahara desert!

Purchase your balloons which will ‘virtually’ set off from Timbuktu across the Sahara Desert on Saturday 8th August at 12pm

Design your own balloon – you can pick the shape, colour, pattern, helium content, rubber thickness and even give it a name!

You can track your own personally designed balloon throughout the race – it’s great for children to join in

All entries are in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize for the balloons that travel the furthest –

• 1st Prize - £500
• 2nd Prize – Apple iPad
• 3rd Prize – 10 x £10 Book Tokens

In addition to the main event prizes we will also have additional prizes for the furthest balloon purchased via the Seashell link.

Note: Important information

  1. The Race is run and administered by Eco Racing
  2. This is a virtual race – no actual balloons are used so there is no impact on the environment or risk to wildlife
  3. Seashell Trust will receive 79.3% of the sales revenue for all balloons purchased by SST supporters – the remainder will go towards Eco racing administration costs and prizes
  4. The balloon race is a national activity with a number of charities participating to raise funds for their causes.
  5. Prizes of £500, I-pad and book tokens will go to the balloons that travel the furthest from ALL entries for all charities.
  6. Seashell Trust will have additional prizes for the furthest balloons traveled by a Seashell supporter
  7. Whilst families are encouraged to enter please only supply personal details of the adult card holder making the purchase
  8. Any winner who has not responded to notification within 21 days will forfeit their prize; a replacement winner will be selected from next furthest travelled balloon.
