Longterm Seashell supporter honoured with OBE

Ged Mason receives OBE from Prince William

We are thrilled to congratulate long-term Seashell Trust supporter Ged Mason on his well-deserved OBE.

The Morson Group chief executive accepted the honour for his services to engineering and design at a Buckingham Palace ceremony the day after the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The Salford-based Morson Group has provided global services in engineering recruitment since 1969.

For the last seven years, the company has supported Seashell Trust through fundraising, volunteer work and offering our students work experience and employment.

Mark Geraghty, CEO and principal at Seashell Trust, said: “Everyone at Seashell is delighted to hear of Ged’s honour. Both Ged and his late father Gerry have been stalwart supporters of Seashell for a number of years, culminating in the naming of Gerry Mason House as part of our new residential housing development. Ged’s contributions to the world of engineering and design and to the voluntary sector are well known. Honouring him with an OBE is richly deserved.”

Ged said: “Receiving my OBE from Prince William at Buckingham Palace a day after the Queen’s 90th birthday was a moment that I will never forget. Sharing this moment with my family was a great honour and I have dedicated it to the memory of my late father and to all those who have supported me throughout my life.”
