Team Seashell crosses line with £10,000 from Manchester 10K

Profoundly disabled students from Seashell Trust took part in the Manchester 10K.

The five athletes, Ryan Doxy, Daniel Curtis, Scott Fletcher, Ballal Arfeen and Emma Tonna, were supported by 11 staff on the route.

Our students have some of the most complex disabilities in the country, including autism, visual and hearing impairment, learning difficulties and comunication disorders.

We had a record 53 runners from one company, financial firm BDO, raising money for it after staff volunteered at our Cheadle Hulme campus.

Commercial property business CBRE fielded a Seashell team of 23, with its women winning the Large Business Fastest Female Team title.

Husband and wife Gordon and Toni Fenton ran in different waves so they could each take care of the youngest member of Team Seashell, their baby son Joseph.

The trust is expecting to raise £10,000.
