Hooray for Hollywood as ball raises £40,000
Seashell Trust's guests got the red carpet treatment at its vintage Hollywood summer ball.
Paparazzi photographers made partygoers feel like stars for the night as they posed with a Marilyn Monroe look-a-like.
The gala dinner at the Hallmark Hotel Cheadle raised £40,000.
Performers from Cadmans Dance School, Sale, evoked the golden age of the silver screen with an All That Jazz number. Guests were serenaded during their starters by 'Marilyn'.
The auction winners snapped up prizes fit for filmstars including a private box for Robbie Williams's Manchester gig, a helicopter flight to Chester races and a dress by designer Vicky Martin
Wendy Bray, fundraiser for Seashell Trust, said: “We had a special wishing tree made by talented Royal College Manchester students on which guests could hang a donations to help kit out a bedroom in one of the new houses. Our very kind guests donated £2,500 on it.”
The night was sponsored by PZ Cussons and supported by events agency The fresh Group.
