Golfers hole out with £10,400 for Seashell Trust

BDO accountants won the annual Seashell Trust Golf Day that raised a record £10,400.

 

The Manchester firm scored 96 points in the four-person team event at Wilmslow Golf Club.

 

Also on 96 points but losing out on a card play-off were Ezeread from Woodford and Cheadle coach firm Bullocks.

 

Next best on 95 points was the Stockport Express team led by editor Paul Harrison.

 

Two teams of former footballers also took part, including ex-Manchester City players Joe Corrigan and Tommy Booth, and former Blackburn and QPR midfielder Simon Barker, who was on the PFA team.

 

A total of 30 teams took part in the event that has been running for more than 20 years where teams compete for the Sue Holman Trophy. Next year’s golf day, again at Wilmslow, will be on Thursday, September 10.

 

The next events for Seashell Trust are the Trafford Centre abseil on September 20 and 21, and the Imperial War Museum North zip slide on October 4 and 5.

 

The Christmas shopping spectacular at Arley Hall on November 10 and 11.
