Brave pair get roped into terrifying abseil challenge

Adventurous fundraisers went over the top to help Seashell Trust students.
The petrified pair took on the Trafford Centre abseil challenge.
Eighteen-year-olds Hannah Dooley, from Cranage, and Ashleigh Kent, from Goostrey, in Cheshire, raised £700 after sliding down the side of the 170ft bell tower.
Hannah, who works in IT for Barclays in Knutsford, said: “One of our colleague's daughters attended Seashell so we had to go ahead, despite our fear of heights. Going over the top was terrifying. I’m not sure we’d ever agree to being 170ft off the ground again.
“The scariest part was climbing backwards over the edge of the tower – while trying not to look down. Once that part was over and we finally started to descend, although it seemed to take forever, in reality it was only a few minutes. However, knowing we’d raised money for such a great charity made it all worthwhile.”
