Jordan's feeling fresh-faced after going sober for October

A 'weekend partier' has decided to cheers to the beers for a whole month to help our students.
Jordan Roberts has taken up the challenge to put down the pints and do Sober October in aid of the Seashell Trust.
Jordan, 22, from Cheadle Hulme, said: “It’s pretty well known amongst friends and colleagues that I enjoy a good drink and I’m a bit of a weekend partier so I knew it would stir up a bit of attention if I decided to go sober. My mum also said she would donate £300 to get the ball rolling so I didn’t feel I had much of a choice!”
The money raised from the challenge will be split with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as his best friend has the condition.
He added: “We’ve already raised over £600 pounds to split between the two charities so I think my £800 target is looking very achievable.”
Jordan, who is part of the administration team at Cheadle-based creative events agency The fresh Group, said: “I chose to raise money for Seashell Trust because it is our company’s designated charity and I helped deliver its summer ball.”
Wendy Bray, from the charity, said: “‘We are so grateful to Jordan for choosing us to benefit from his challenge and want to say huge thanks to all his family and friends for their generosity too.”
Although he is only at the half way point, Jordan said: “I’m still feeling confident. I got through two trips to the pub over the weekend to watch the football as friends all necked their crisp pints of lager. There are a couple more weekends to endure before Halloween Friday and that will be quite a night - after midnight, of course!”
