Seashell students and Sodexo staff channel energy to raise £1,400
Facilities management firm Sodexo at Astra Zeneca had a lot of fun raising £1,415 for Seashell Trust.
Some of the students went along to two fun days held at Astra Zeneca's Alderley Edge and Macclesfield sites and joined in a sponsored relay row of the English Channel on a rowing machine another all the other attractions.
Jodie Aikenhead, Sodexo customer service manager at Alderley Park, said: “This year we have completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and held fetes to raise money for the charity. Both events were huge successes and raised £1,415 for Seashell Trust, a fantastic charity we have worked closely with over the last few years and look forward to supporting the great work that they do in future.”
Sodexo employs a Seashell graduate in supported role after a number of successful work experience placements for other students.
Wendy Bray, from Seashell Trust, said: “We are so grateful to all the staff at Sodexo and Astra Zeneca for so generously fundraising for us. It was a fantastic event and our students were very proud to be part of the team that rowed the Channel in a day.”
