Minister full of praise for outstanding Seashell Trust

The Minister of State for Disabled People Mark Harper visited Seashell Trust to see some of its 'outstanding' work.
Recently rated outstanding again across all areas of the school, college and residential provision, Seashell Trust provides a creative, happy and secure environment for children and adults with complex and severe learning disabilities, which include little or no language abilities.
Mark Harper and Mary Robinson, prospective Conservative MP for Cheadle, met Mark Geraghty, the trust's principal and chief executive, and its head of fundraising and community development Dominic Tinner, to discuss the charity's exceptional provision and innovative learning techniques.
The minister and Mary visited an after-school music class to see them in action.
Mary said “It was a real privilege to see more of the work this school and college does and meet some of the young people helped by the truly dedicated staff. To hear about the young people’s experiences, challenges and, with the help of the Seashell Trust, progress towards a fulfilling life with a job and independent living is inspirational. Seeing the new facilities since my last visit was great.”
The minister added: “It was great to hear about the fantastic work which Seashell is doing to transform the life chances of young people with severe learning and communication difficulties. Hearing about some of the stories of success from Mark and Dominic brings alive the value of what they do. I'm keen we work closely with them to continue this strong record.”
Principal Mark Geraghty said “We’re grateful to Mary for arranging the visit for the minister. They both shared a keen interest in our work, what help they could provide and how our experiences can help inform the work they do.”
