Fundraising cyclists really get a moo-ve on for Seashell's sportive

Seashell Trust sportive participant cycles round a cow on the road.

Seahshell Trust's annual sportive saw more than 150 cyclists pedal their way to raising £8,500.

Riders from as far afield as Maidenhead, Stoke and Wales as well as local cycling clubs Cheshire Mavericks and SK6 Spinners took on the 30-miles, 60-mile or the epic leg-busting 100-mile route through the Cheshire countryside and the Peak District.

The ride, named by British Cycling as one of the top 10 sportives for women, started and finished at our national centre of excellence in Cheadle Hulme.

The money raised will help provide specially adapted bikes for our students. Cycling is one of the few means of independent transport open to them and is vital to their fitness, balance, and enjoyment.

Jo Barber, Seashell Trust fundraiser, said: “Thanks to all the participants, volunteers and the sponsor Carillion Morgan Sindall, as well as supporters VeloTech Cheshire, PZ Cussons, Brazen PR, NJL Consulting and Sports Tours International. We are already looking forward to next year's event.”

Register now for next year's sportive which will be on Sunday, September 16.
