Pounds pulled in by pulling pints are now providing a fantastic play area for our students.

The 2017 Macc Beer Festival, held at Macclesfield Rugby Club and supported by Macclesfield Round Table and CAMRA, served 16,000 pints to more than 4,000 visitors over two days.

It raised £17,000 for Seashell Trust. The money will be used to build a gazebo and safe trampolining area in the middle of our new houses for residential students and profoundly disabled children on short breaks away from their families

Dominic Tinner, from Seashell Trust, said: “The amazing funds raised by Macclesfield Beer Festival will be going to fund a super new summer house and safe wheelchair-accessible trampolining area for our students. Based on the green in the heart of our new housing development it will be a focal point for lots of outdoor social activities throughout the year.”

Members of Macclesfield Beer festival committee along with Justine Clowes from SAS Daniels and Jon Butler from Big Brand Ideas dropped into meet Seashell students Amara and Jamie and find out project will be completed this spring, just in time for the students to enjoy playing outside in better weather.

It’s such a fantastic organisation and is an absolute lifeline for so many families in the region, and further afield.
