Cardinal Martime and Sambro raise £52,360 for Seashell Trust

£52,360 was raised for Seashell Trust earlier this month at a special golf day and gala dinner held by local companies, Cardinal Martime and Sambro.  The inaugural event took place at The Mere Golf Spa and Resort in Cheshire on 8th September and was hosted by TV presenter, Denise Van Outen.

The money raised will be used to fund a state of the art new classroom at Seashell Trust’s Royal School which will be officially named the ‘Cardinal/Sambro classroom’.

Twenty teams competed at the Golf Day, enjoying gin tasting and a golf trick show as they moved around the course.  Approaching 200 guests later enjoyed an evening of entertainment and a charity auction hosted by Denise Van Outen.

Seashell Trust parent, Nicola Bottley gave a speech to guests at the gala dinner, explaining the positive impacts the charity has had on the lives of all her family and talking about the challenges that they face.

Rachel McCrystal, Senior Fundraising Manager for the Tranforming Lives Appeal at Seashell Trust said: ‘Thank you very much to Cardinal & Sambro and their colleagues and suppliers for raising an incredible amount. It will fund a class room and help to transform the lives of some of the country’s most profoundly disabled children and young people.”

Tom Duffy MD at Sambro said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Cardinal and so it was brilliant to team up with them to raise money for such a great charity. As well as making lots of money, it was also a great way to highlight the great work the Seashell Trust do as well as having a fun (albeit extremely competitive) day and evening with colleagues and customers.’

Brian Hay, CEO of Cardinal Group said: “What a huge success for our first golf day with Sambro. It was a great way to bring our suppliers and clients together and raise money for such a worthy cause, right on our doorstep. Having one of the parents there to share their story and let people know just how important the work that Seashell Trust was vital to the evening’s success. We’re looking forward to the next one.”
