British Sign Language (BSL) Courses

05th September 2018

Our British Sign Language courses begin on Wednesday 5th September

Duration: This unit is 12 weeks (term time only)

Chose from:

Wednesdays at 1-3pm, 3.30-5.30pm or 7-9pm

Cost: £100

This qualification is designed to teach participants how to communicate with deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use. They will gain basic skills and confidence in production and reception of BSL.

Michael Josephson Summer Ball 2018

Manchester businessman, Michael Josephson's greatest passion is supporting the most vulnerable children in society and so in his spare time Michael raises funds for children's charities in the north west.

 

This year Michael will be hosting the inaugural Michael Josephson Summer Ball 2018 which will raise funds for Seashell Trust, as well as Variety and the Frost Foundation.

This is one of several sessions aimed at helping families deal with everyday issues like mealtimes, communication, behaviour and looking for ways to help your child become more independent.

Makaton has transformed the lives of children and adults with a range of different communication difficulties. It’s designed to support spoken language – signs are used with speech, in spoken word order to help children and adults to communicate.

Seashell Trust are pleased to announce that we are holding a Intervenor Course for Intervenors or staff offering 1:1 support to someone with congenital Deafblindness/Multi-Sensory Impairment in association with NatSIP and Sense. This is the original Intervenor course, developed and delivered by Jenny Fletcher and colleagues from Sense.
