Free Makaton taster session for parents, carers and professionals

Seashell Trust is offering a free taster session for those interested in finding out more about the sign and symbol language system, Makaton. A bitesize practical session will take place on 28th July at Seashell Trust in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport.

Makaton has transformed the lives of children and adults with a range of different communication difficulties. It’s designed to support spoken language – signs are used with speech, in spoken word order to help children and adults to communicate.

Specialist adapted equipment (including arm bikes, motor-powered bikes and bikes for wheelchair users) are available for athletes and their supporters to use.

DMLab North West Challenge Showcase

Royal College Manchester is taking part in the DMLab North West Challenge, bringing together disabled musicians and technologists to create innovative and accessible musical instruments.

Our team will be working on creating a saxophone that can be played using switches and compressed air! Other projects include a portable and bespoke controllers for sound art and live mixing, an air keyboard and an electric wheelchair one man band powered by self-sustaining eco-power sources

1 Day First Aid Refresher at £60 per person

Macclesfield Beer Festival, 5th and 6th May 2017

The event is aiming to raise £15,000 for a new pavilion, paved area, trampoline and adapted garden furniture for our new residential development so that all our children and young people can enjoy outdoor activities together.

Spring Ball 2017

Seashell Trust has held an annual charity ball for the past 21 years, and this year’s ball takes place at the stunning Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Friday 5th May.

The event not only gives us a fantastic opportunity to raise funds but also awareness of our cause. The funds raised from the event enable our students to enjoy experiences many of us take for granted.

Transition Event

Stars Drama Academy Presents Charlie & The Chocolate Factory

Stars Drama Academy are holding a production of 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory', based on the novel by Roald Dahl, with Cheadle & District's Rotary Club in aid of Seashell Trust.
