Manchester Grammar boys are volunteer heroes
Seashell Trust got a summertime boost from kind Manchester Grammar pupils.
Every year a group of students help out at Seashell Trust during their end-of-year activity week.
The boys helped prepare for the summer fair by distributing leaflets, and organising the tombola and lucky dip stalls.
They also got to experience a different way of life during their school day. Pupils played sport and games with the Seashell Trust students and gardened in the grounds.
MGS pupil Luke Frampton said: “Its been a good experience and I will definitely come back next year to volunteer for the Seashell Trust.”
Denese Paver, volunteer co-ordinator at Seashell Trust, said: “The boys learnt new skills they didn’t know they needed, from how to deal with difficult behaviour to the right way to push a wheelchair. We really value the support we get from the school and look forward to developing the partnership in the new academic year.”
