Our Relationships

We pride ourselves on the very positive relationships we build with parents, carers and professionals in delivering outstanding outcomes and positive experiences for the children and young people in our care.
“You value parents as partners in their children’s education…. You prioritise the development of positive links with parents and carers. Staff make sure that they regularly keep in touch, to share how well pupils are getting on... Frequent phone calls, home–school logs and weekly emails let parents know how their child is getting on”. (Ofsted: 2016)
We work closely with placing authorities to ensure that they are regularly informed as to the progress being made by the children and young people placed with us. Outside of the annual review process, we are always available to meet with relevant professionals to discuss the progress being made by children and young people in our care and to discuss any issues as they arise.
From initial assessment and admission through to leaving school or college our Family Link Service is available to provide support, information and advice to families and carers who have children and young people attending Seashell Trust. Our Family Link worker is available for home visits and/or support during progress reviews or external meetings.
We recognise that our services need to be accessible to parents, carers and professionals. We are close to all major road, rail and air networks which means parents, carers and professionals can easily reach us. Parents, carers and professionals are encouraged to visit whenever possible and accommodation can be provided on site to make visits easier.
