On Sunday 5 September over 300 riders took place in the Sportive, now in its sixth year. The charity bike ride raised over £20,000, an astounding amount which will be put towards the vital services that the Stockport charity provides for some of the nation’s most profoundly disabled children and young people.

Stockport manager Jim Gannon and Alan Lord kick off Seashell’s summer of fun

Seashell Trust gives thanks to Stockport Football Club manager Jim Gannon for opening this year’s Summer Fair, and helping the Trust to raise £3,500 which will go towards helping to provide services to the profoundly disabled children and young people it cares for.

Local celebrities Jim Gannon and Alan Lord opened the event, which saw over 1,000 people take part in the activities which included markets, inflatable zone with assault course, family swimming and live music.

Stockport charity helps deafblind students across England with special buddy dog

This week is Deafblind awareness week which brings understanding about those who experience sight and hearing problems.  Varying in each case, deafblind can mean a person may have limited sight and hearing, and in some cases no vision or sight at all.

Stockport charity Seashell Trust, who cares and educates children and young people with profound learning difficulties and communication needs, have 22 students in their school and college who are registered deafblind.

Seashell kicks off summer of sport with Natspec games hosted at Sport City

Stockport charity Seashell Trust is going for gold after hosting the ninth year of its annual college sports day for disabled students.

Hosted at Sports City the North West Games, in partnership with Natspec (National Association of Specialist Colleges) for its second year in a row, saw 185 students take part from 16 specialist colleges across the North West. The volunteers were really helpful, positive and upbeat which made the day more enjoyable, the students thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Our 'Strictly' dancers waltz away with record amount for Seashell

Seashell Trust quickstepped its way to a record-breaking £123,000 at its glittering fundraiser – helped by Strictly celebrity stars Denise Van Outen and Gethin Jones.

Following ten weeks of intensive training, nine big names from North West business and society went from non-dancers to a toe-to-toe public dance-off at Manchester’s glitzy Hilton Hotel.

Actress Denise showed off her expertise, gleaned from coming runner up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, by heading up the judging panel.

Seashell Trust submits evidence in readiness for May planning appeal hearing

Seashell Trust has submitted its evidence to the appointed planning inspector in the appeal against the decision of Stockport Council to refuse permission for a school and campus transformation on the site at Cheadle Hulme.

The Board of Trustees of Seashell Trust, which provides education and support for children and young adults with extremely complex disabilities, saw its evidence lodged with the Planning inspectorate against the decision of the council to refuse permission for the campus transformation and associated cross‐funding residential development.
