Seashell Trust's guests got the red carpet treatment at its vintage Hollywood summer ball.

Paparazzi photographers made partygoers feel like stars for the night as they posed with a Marilyn Monroe look-a-like.

The gala dinner at the Hallmark Hotel Cheadle raised £40,000.

Performers from Cadmans Dance School, Sale, evoked the golden age of the silver screen with an All That Jazz number. Guests were serenaded during their starters by 'Marilyn'.

Seashell students have spent their first night under canvas for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.

The 18 students between the ages of 14 and 22 were the first at the trust to undertake the bronze award expedition. The trust became a licensed Duke of Edinburgh's Awards centre earlier this year.

Helen Partington, Seashell Trust's Duke of Edinburgh's Awards manager, said: “I am bowled over by the achievement of every pupil and the fantastic team work from all the staff. They were clearly so proud.”

North West school children are daring to dream their World Cup song will score a lot of money for Seashell Trust.

The Everycolour Choir are hoping their song Dare To Dream is a hit with fellow pupils as Brazil kick off the World Cup 2014.

Project leader John Conibear said: “Dare To Dream is specially written for primary schools. With inspiring lyrics, a catchy tune and even a chant, it is a great way to keep your school cheering on England in Brazil.”

Profoundly disabled students from Seashell Trust took part in the Manchester 10K.

The five athletes, Ryan Doxy, Daniel Curtis, Scott Fletcher, Ballal Arfeen and Emma Tonna, were supported by 11 staff on the route.

Our students have some of the most complex disabilities in the country, including autism, visual and hearing impairment, learning difficulties and comunication disorders.

We had a record 53 runners from one company, financial firm BDO, raising money for it after staff volunteered at our Cheadle Hulme campus.

Over 60 riders braved freezing conditions to take part in the first Seashell Trust cycle challenge.

With a choice of three routes ranging from 15 to 60 miles, cyclists hit the roads to raise £5,000 for our students.

The full-length course took in the beautiful countryside of three counties - Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire before returning the Seashell Trust campus.

Wendy Bray, Seashell Trust fundraiser, said: “Despite the weather, it was still stunning and a real challenge even for good riders. Lots of people say they would love to do it again next year.”
