Stockport businessman Fred Finley handed over more than £3,000 to Seashell Trust  after his Captain's charity day at Didsbury Golf club.

Some 24 teams took to part in the fourball better ball competition, to support the children and young people with complex disabilities who live and study with us.

Dominic Tinner, from Seashell Trust, said: “Seashell Trust would like to thank Fred for all the fundraising he undertook during his year as Captain and to all the golfers who supported his magnificent efforts.”

Santa Claus arrived in style at Seashell Trust's Christmas party.

He made an early pitstop with his elves, from Bentley Manchester, to drop off some presents for our students.

And while his sleigh was being readied for the big night, the big man and his team travelled in classic cars.

Will Woodhead, marketing manager for Bentley Manchester based in Knutsford, said: “We filled the boots of our Bentley Mulsanne and Rolls-Royce Ghost with huge sacks of presents. A couple of drivers chauffeured the children in the cars – it is a special experience we hope they loved

A Cheshire children's charity has helped get our students on their bikes for Christmas.

The Brian Kennedy Trust donated £6,000 to purchase two trikes and two go-karts to School and College.

Khalifa Souayed, 16, is a student at our School. He has severe learning difficulties and a degenerative condition in his ankles making walking painful.

His teacher Rachel Dwyer, said: “Khalifa loves to interact with others but gets incredibly anxious. Although he shares a classroom with another student twice a week, he still spends a lot of time learning by himself.

One of our Royal School Manchester students is running to raise £2,500 to take his classmates on school trips.

Daniel Snee, aged 16, from Fixby, Huddersfield, is deafblind and also has severe development delay, severe autism, sensory processing dysfunction, epilepsy and no speech.

As part of his silver Duke of Edinburgh award, Dan is combining the sport and charity sections in a sponsored run. The fund will provide for trips and experiences his class friends might not be able to access otherwise.

Seashell Trust has combined music and swimming in a series of fully inclusive events for children with special needs and their families.

Families got the chance to meet others who have the same struggles with participation in sports and activity clubs. Parents could share experiences and support each other while their disabled children and their siblings made new friends.

We are the proud home to a gamelan, an Indonesian percussion orchestra. The vibrations of the gamelan are an excellent way for those with impaired vision and hearing to take part in music.
