Captain America and Supergirl turn into Seashell superheroes

Superheroes flew into action to raise cash for Seashell Trust.

 

Student teacher Emma Jane Shaw, and her boyfriend Lewis Easdown, both aged 20, donned the iconic costumes to take on the zip wire over Salford Quays.

 

The pair also abseiled down the Trafford Centre bell tower recently for our students at Royal School Manchester.

Seashell students and Sodexo staff channel energy to raise £1,400

Facilities management firm Sodexo at Astra Zeneca had a lot of fun raising £1,415 for Seashell Trust.

 

Some of the students went along to two fun days held at Astra Zeneca's Alderley Edge and Macclesfield sites and joined in a sponsored relay row of the English Channel on a rowing machine another all the other attractions.

Brave pair get roped into terrifying abseil challenge

Adventurous fundraisers went over the top to help Seashell Trust students.

 

The petrified pair took on the Trafford Centre abseil challenge.

 

Eighteen-year-olds Hannah Dooley, from Cranage, and Ashleigh Kent, from Goostrey, in Cheshire, raised £700 after sliding down the side of the 170ft bell tower.

Golfers hole out with £10,400 for Seashell Trust

BDO accountants won the annual Seashell Trust Golf Day that raised a record £10,400.

 

The Manchester firm scored 96 points in the four-person team event at Wilmslow Golf Club.

 

Also on 96 points but losing out on a card play-off were Ezeread from Woodford and Cheadle coach firm Bullocks.

 

Next best on 95 points was the Stockport Express team led by editor Paul Harrison.

Teddy bears' picnic for tiny rotate-a-ted fundraisers

There were more that just the 'bear' necessities at a very special charity teddy bears' picnic.

 

The party in the park was to mark the start of Gatley Rotary Club's rotate-a-ted project.

 

Cuddly bears that have been outgrown by their owners are being given a new lease of life and new homes to raise money for Seashell Trust.

'Despicable' fun as Tesco donates £250

A supermarket marked its reopening celebration by donating £250 to Seashell Trust.

 

Students visited the refurbished Tesco at the Paddock in Handforth to join in the 'Despicable' fun. They enjoyed meeting a Minion from the film Despicable Me and trying out an Aston Martin for size as well as food tasting.

Summer fair raises £6,000 to celebrate trust's 60 years in Cheadle Hulme

The summer fair raised £6,700 while celebrating the trust's 60 years in Cheadle Hulme.

 

Wendy Bray, Seashell Trust fundraiser, said: “We had hundreds of visitors, including lots of our students and their families, as well as members of the local community, our volunteers and supporters.”

 

Entertainment included LL Extreme Cheerleaders and the Alderley Scout Band. Caremark, a local home care provider, ran a sweet stall and lucky dip.

Manchester Grammar boys are volunteer heroes

Seashell Trust got a summertime boost from kind Manchester Grammar pupils.

 

Every year a group of students help out at Seashell Trust during their end-of-year activity week.

 

The boys helped prepare for the summer fair by distributing leaflets, and organising the tombola and lucky dip stalls.

Royal College students celebrate end of era at prom

Royal College Manchester students celebrated their leavers prom in style.

Family and friends waved off the 12 students in limos on their way to the party at the Hilton Manchester Airport.

Teachers and carers from the Seashell Trust-run college in Cheadle Hulme were on hand to make sure the momentous occasion was marked in a special way.

Every student was presented with an award by the head of college Bernie White before a meal and disco.

Seashell Trust has hosted a regional individual skills competition for specialist colleges.

 

Royal College Manchester, run by the trust in Cheadle Hulme, took on Derwen College in Oswestry and Condover Collegein Shrewsbury at cooking, gardening and cycle maintenance.

CADS celebrated in Parliament as blueprint for integrated clubs nationwide

CADS celebrated in Parliament

Seashell Trust's award-winning integrated sport clubs have been celebrated at the House of Commons.

The trust's groundbreaking Children's Able and Disabled Sports programme (CADS) is being used a blueprint for youth clubs to beat the loneliness of children with disabilities.

Staff and volunteers from the trust attended Jack Straw MP's afternoon tea reception to launch A Level Playing Field, a joint lottery-funded programme between Seashell Trust and OnSide Youth Zones. Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and sports broadcaster John Inverdale were amongst the other guests.
