Free Autism Information Sessions for Parents and Carers

If you care for a child or young person with autism and severe learning difficulties, you can benefit from a comprehensive range of support from Seashell Trust. Wednesday 18th October will see the start of a series of sessions aimed at helping families deal with everyday issues like communication, behaviour and ways to help your child to become more independent.

For some children and young people with autism, mealtimes can be a confusing mess of different tastes, textures, smells and even sounds that are just too much to cope with.

Fundraising cyclists really get a moo-ve on for Seashell's sportive

Seahshell Trust's annual sportive saw more than 150 cyclists pedal their way to raising £8,500. 

Riders from as far afield as Maidenhead, Stoke and Wales as well as local cycling clubs Cheshire Mavericks and SK6 Spinners took on the 30-miles, 60-mile or the epic leg-busting 100-mile route through the Cheshire countryside and the Peak District.

F&G Commercials have drive to win at Seashell Trust golf day

Generous golfers clubbed together to raise over £12,000 for Seashell Trust.

The 28 teams dodged the showers to tee off in our annual golf day at Wilmslow Golf Club.

Two of truck dealer F&G Commercials' four teams took first and second with RBS taking third place honours.

Sponsored by Mace, JW Lees, Honeywell, Beever & Struthers and Henri Lloyd, the event raised £12,800.

Cardinal Martime and Sambro raise £52,360 for Seashell Trust

£52,360 was raised for Seashell Trust earlier this month at a special golf day and gala dinner held by local companies, Cardinal Martime and Sambro.  The inaugural event took place at The Mere Golf Spa and Resort in Cheshire on 8th September and was hosted by TV presenter, Denise Van Outen.

The money raised will be used to fund a state of the art new classroom at Seashell Trust’s Royal School which will be officially named the ‘Cardinal/Sambro classroom’.

Seashell Trust appears on Sale Sharks new kit

Seashell Trust features on Sale Sharks’ new away shirt for the 2017/2018 season.  Our logo appears between the shoulders on the new kit, promoting the charity and our work to a huge audience of rugby fans.

The Manchester-based club kicked off their Aviva Premiership campaign earlier this month with a host of new world class signings.  Their away shirt also features the iconic worker bee, in memory of the victims of the Manchester terror attack.

It's official - Seashell Barclays team is one of best in the world!

Seashell Trust's partnership with a group of volunteers and fundraisers has been named as the one of the best in the world.

The partnership with  Barclays staff from across Manchester won the UK Colleagues in the Community category at the the Barclays Global Citizenship Awards 2017.

They were then shortlisted as one of the top three projects in the world but were pipped to the post by a team in Tokyo which helped rebuild communities after the tsunami.

Royal College graduates celebrate end of era with Seashell prom

Our college students celebrated their graduation with a glamorous prom.

The class of 2017 travelled to their prom at the Hilton Hotel Manchester Airport with style in a variety of luxury vehicles and two quirky tuk tuks.

Students graduate the Seashell Trust-run Royal College Manchester aged around 23 years old and all have complex learning disabilities and communication difficulties.

Eaton and Hulme Walfield Rose Queen Helen Banks raised £700 for Seashell Trust during her reign.

The Year 7 pupil chose to support us for her year of charity fundraising because her mum Louise works here at Royal College Manchester.

Louise, a learning support assistant, said: “I love my job at the Seashell Trust and it fills me with pride when I see the positive impact we have on these young people's lives.

Seashell Trust to open accessible football facility for disabled children

25th July 2017

Seashell Trust has secured funds to build a state of the art, fully accessible football facility that will open the game up to disabled and able-bodied children.

Located in Cheadle Hulme near Stockport, the new football pitch will benefit the disabled children and young people who live and study on site, as well as players at all levels across the region.
